Introduction
The Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred under section 20A of the MMDR Act, 1957, in the national interest hereby directs the concerned State Governments to incorporate the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) into the rules framed by them for the District Mineral Foundation and to implement the said Scheme.
Utilization of Fund
The PMKKKY covers different activities, which is devided into High Priority and Other Priority Sectors. 60% of PMKKKY funds to be utilised in High Priority Sector & 40% of the funds to be utilised in Other Priority Sector.
Drinking Water and Sanitation
The Corporation comes into existence in the year 1969 in unified Bihar. In the year 2001, after bifurcation of the State, it was undertaken by the Govt. of Jharkhand (vide its notification No. 94, dated 17.01.2001) with the revised nomenclature “Jharkhand State Tribal Cooperative Development Corporation Ltd.” registered under the Bihar and Orissa Co-operative Societies Act. 1935. Its registered office is at Ranchi, which is headed by the Managing Director nominated by Govt. of Jharkhand.
Environment Preservation And Pollution Control
Pollution and environmental degradation have reached alarming dimensions due to poverty, deforestation, industrial development without adequate environmental safeguards, and sheer greed. Major pollutants and critically affected areas have been identified. Pollution control of water, air, and land has been established by both official and private organizations and the work on environmental protection is steadily growing.
